I’m a civil engineer working in IT and this is the view from my new office, watching the construction work every day and think did I take the right decision.

    @gitpush yeah I’m quite successful at my IT job, but it’s like you feed your pet cat all the nice food but it will still go hunt and eat the bugs.

    @ScriptCoded civil engineer mostly works on designs on a software, so I would still have a desk job. No worries about the rain ☔️

    Yo, I was an electrician working on a new corporate office and I had to leave because the work was destroying my joints. 5 years and a degree later I was offered an IT/CS job at the place I helped build.

    I turned it down for something else.

    @NoMad The other half in most cases is also done by automatons who crammed through college and frankly, don't deserve to be paid making software.
