Do you also press some [*Lock] key first after plugging in a new keyboard? Like you wanted to gradually experience failure of power and then something more complicated

To dose possible disappointment more equally I guess?

I have no idea what you mean?

I only press NumLock because I actually use my numpad. And I write some parts of my passwords with CapsLock, but most of the time it isn't after plugging in a new keyboard.

Okaay then maybe it's just me :D the first thing I do on a new keyboard is pressing numlock to see if the indicator turns on and then try to actually type something to confirm the keyboard is actually working.
