That moment when you realise your console is just a pc and the days of fast cartridge in and load game as gone and with that statement I also feel old.

    RIP games that you can pick up and play in the same evening.

    Having to download a gb's on launch day is torturous and hype killing.

    @iaan if you can afford game on launch day, you probably can afford good internet speed

    Well having the game on a cartridge would be way more expensive nowadays.

    What the heck is that 504GB game?

    I was also surprised by how long it took to install it but you will be well rewarded for the wait 🙂 You have many nice hours of gaming in front of you. Such an incredible game in every aspect.

    I was looking into new consoles. Saw they require huge downloads to play games. Said "No" and never looked back. Console gaming is dead, IMO. I will put money into a general purpose computing device and not some POS hardware.

    @Demolishun well said

    If need be, you can still use a controller on a PC. Win10 has built-in support for Xbox controllers and there are dualshock drivers available for pc

    @iaan Not to mention server outages to download the game on launch day.

    Waiting for pc version

    @Codex404 well yeah but I still like my games on disc
  • 1
    @devTea but you pay a CD with a acces code to download 75go of update ^^ its the same

    @jak645 yeah I don’t mind

    @W4R10CK @jak645 I have to say it's been s long time since installed any game via disc, we have this game on the PS4 one platform we don't use as much and that installed in half the time and used one blueray

    But the PlayStation didn't feel or play as well for me I love both platforms do not picking a side, and to you jak the point of a old console was we didn't have to wait for a long time for downloads or installing and I am 100% getting the game on PC but that missing my point of this post lol

    My internet connection if fast the install speeds was affected by the disc no downloading as I don't want the patch for that game I disable the internet and have automatically patch's off

    So my statement is I feel old as my child hood we put the game in and waiting to it loaded nothing nothing more and games today have the same or worse loading times in places. Not sure how many of you missed that :)

    @devTea you made some good points but I have good internet it was turned off as I want to see the game in its buggy glorry lol and the game is on disc, I think the term we are looking for is directed play off a a digital media rather a install wait and pay like we do on the PC.

    Also this rant blow up fast, I am glad it triggered something in side some of you, here's to a dying concept, plug and play, you will be missed

    How is this on the switch do you have to install it from a card as well?
  • 1
    @Codex404 I am little confused why you said this is on the switch ? this is a screen shot of a xbox and even the switch as content and updates that install to the device these days.
  • 1
    @Rexzooly I know I meant how does this work on the switch, does it do instead loading or do you have to wait ages? Nintendo is famous for their instant loading on their handheld systems

    Cartridges used to have instant on. Cds got slower. Hard drives are better, but if you have that why not just run a PC?

    @Demolishun I think it's getting to the point long as the game is on a PC you might as well, consoles do give you a fixed hardware with a good game play for its limits but we can do that with a pc also.

    I miss the days when a console was really that, games haven't got better they just look better, and devs don't make things better they use us the post lovely API/Framework there could of made games to work on the gen before hardware not the next coming up hardware would make a game last twice as long but it's the same in all programming APIs here Framework there, latest tech there .... Sorry but we not using any hardware it's fullist we are just grabbing that looks the best.

    But I digress even the instant on PC never stays like that after the next update and windows slows it down, Linux is not super fast booting and nonpc should be if it's profiling it's hardware and detecting it right rather then guessing hardware is there with a magic driver ...

    Bring back real consoles and PCs
