I use Freelethics for body weight exercises. It does cost a bit (40 bucks for a 3 month training), but you get a personalised training and can give your couch feedback afterwards.
And I bike pretty much everywhere. -
@gathurian do you prefer body weight exercise and not traditional resistance or endurance training?
-
@Treighton I just do body weight because it's 'available' all the time and I can do them at home easily. The workouts from Freelethics are something between 15 and 30 min, so easily manageable. Ive had a gym membership for years wjere I also trained with weights. But I barely ever went because then Id spend 2h in the gym.

BadFox23315yThree times a week weight training at the gym. Day one is triceps and chest, day two is legs and day three is biceps and back. During the day, I am a lazy fuck and don't do anything at all physically.
The app I use to track exercises is "FitNotes".
The best advice I can give for anyone is to read a study on the effectiveness of any training type, exercise or whatever so as to match it with your goals and eliminate exercises that cause more hard than good.
For example, people tell you to walk after completing a set but a supine recovery position seems to give the best results. Basically, question everything. -
Riding without your bike everyday. Doesn't have to be long or hard just do something. You will feel good when you are done.

@Lyniven if you don’t mind my asking what program are you following and how did you find it?
-
Lyniven44535y@Treighton what you should follow depends on your current state. If you're morbidly obese since forever or have some base to work on. It also depends on what you're aiming : losing fat very fast without building something under it (just go run 🏃💨) or becoming a mass etc...
-
@Lyniven I’m not looking for advice for myself I’m more curious about what my colleagues/peers (devs) are doing / using.
-
BadFox23315y@Treighton well basically, it's lean muscle and strength building but only enough to gain some strength without getting bulk muscle then I'll just maintain it.

I recently got a treadmill (running belt) under my desk (at home). It's not just for fitness tough but because of some serious health issues that prohibit me from sitting or standing still for extended periods. But walking a lot certain isn't bad for general fitness.
I also do Yoga & Pilates - which are great for helping with the issues from desk work and to clear your mind. I have had a bit of a break recently, I should be some more again.
Furthermore I signed up for a gym - for some weight (machine) exercises (I have to be careful with those) and swimming. I have done YAYOG (bodyweight HIIT) before, but going out to the gym can be motivating enough to actually do it. For me it's a 3 minute walk, so I got little excuses to not go.
I also like cycling, but it's terrible in this city. It's only good if you want have a near-death experience once in a while.
I eat a lot (and almost all day, but no junk) and I have trouble keeping or raising my weight.
