@Owenvii lol if there wasn’t a performance hit ... and people knew wtf was going on behind the scenes then yes they are great.
But due the performance hits, and slowness, it’s unusable... I shouldn’t need 64gb of ram to run the god damn thing.. it’s bad architecture and bad system design on their behalf...
Maybe if it was written in c++ or c it would be a different story...but since it’s java and running the damn vm.. we know why
Fuck it I’ll just write my own IDE done right with everything you need and want.. without the loss of performance... new goal for the next 5 years hahah... -
I don't know what you're doing but I'm running 19-2 on 16gb of ram and have absolutely zero issues

@craftxbox I was running nxp studio and code composer from TI.. both eclipse based but idk eclipse they based off

CptFox16165yIf only I could have eclipse, but with literally any other editor (so that I could have multicursor, speed and a modern ctrl-F that doesn't take half the screen and isn't the ugliest thing in existence), with at least decent colour theme management (don't know if it's still the case, but for the longest time one they did introduce a dark theme, half the UI was black text on dark grey), half-decent speed (c'mon, you haven't improved significantly in 20 years, why are you slower than an unmotivated snail!?)...
Oh, and if I could have backward compatibility from the eclipse-proprietary build system for one minor level update on NXP's MCUxpresso, that would also make it way less of a turd.
In fact, let's just burn eclipse and forget it ever existed
I hate eclipse due to the performance issue... switching perspectives, just everything seems too slow.
Love sublime and it’s speed, and simplicity, as well as vim ..of eclipse had the editor of vim... with key bindings of vim... speed of sublime or vim...but the ilitellisense of eclipse or visual studio ..and the ability to properly change the theme/color scheme of the entire environment without issues of contrast with certain plugs in...
I think eclipse would actually be great if someone did that... or same with Visual studio ...
