Me:. "Because of x, y, and z tasks this week, I was not able to complete a, b, c stories. I will need two days to complete those next week."

Boss:. "you have Saturday and Sunday"

    @FlamingServers sadly it comes from jobs full over over time and nothing to show for it.

    You get to a point in life where overtime becomes Monday And not the gap in between.

    Admittedly I'm blunt as you'll find, but never mind the quick wit in these situations. I would have given him a death stare for a few seconds, then said "I'm going to do you the professional courtesy of assuming that was a bad joke. I strongly suggest you don't say that again."

    It's a good line to know.

    FWIW, if that were me, unless he backtracked hard, that'd likely be enough reason to leave. Saturday and Sunday would be spent applying elsewhere.

    @AlmondSauce I am actively looking for another job because of instances like this. This unfortunately is not an isolated case.
