If anybody was wondering how 24 threads looks like in htop then this is how. I mean just crazy.
I will be updating to 8 core 16 threads CPUs. Yes CPUs. In my server but this will have to do for now.

    And yes im hitting only half of them at full power. Mining doesnt require the threads. Its actually better to run only on full cores. But compiling oh boy this is where this beast shines.

    Full kernel compile with stock config takes 15 fucking minutes and that was on USB fucking drive. On HDD its fucking 7 minutes and im updating to SSD soon so i expect it at around 5 minutes. CRAZY

    But tHis WilL haVe tO Do fOR NoW *spongebob meme* lol

    On my 8 threads laptop at 3Ghz it takes 50 minutes on M.2 SSD. So that tells you the kind of power that has.

    Server runs 2x E5-2430v1

    Laptop runs Ryzen 5 2500U

    @ScribeOfGoD Yeah i mean its good even like this but it needs to be better. I need those 8 cores.

    @Haxk20 the xeons have a lot more cache. That probably is very important for compiling.

    @electrineer Ouuu yeah definetly. 15mb cache and with the 8 core i think i will go up to 17mb. Crazy i say.

    Edit: 20mb of cache on the 8 core.

    Man I envy you right now. I've gotta do loads of data rendering and its insane how much computing power this requires 😅

    Neat I ran mine at 8 full cores no threads and got around 4200H/s. More cores or threads did not yield any increase in hashes. Sadly that is not worth mining in Germany. I'd pay around 29ct/kwh

    Edit: I mean 3,8kH/s to max 4kH/s.
    4200 was my ryzen

    @fuckwit i run mine at all 12 cores and i get 4.1KH/s and i pay 0.07€ per KW. So its profitable. Hehe

    @linuxxx envys me. My life is complete now 😂😂😂😂.

    In December 2019 this really is not something new to see. I would like to see the new threadrippers on a dual cpu mobo.

    @Haxk20 I just need to render (in the end) 4,2 TB of data, that's all 😅

    @AtuM yeah its not new to see it but to own it its quiet new.

    @linuxxx well crap.

    I had a similar wow moment at my last job when I did a df -h on the HDFS mount and saw 2.2PB. I know that's not an enormous amount of space, but first time I ever saw that much space from my terminal.

    That's the kind of setup I need apparently. Building light and shit for unreal engine takes my system way too long. Also compiling the unreal engine source code. I'm gonna have to learn with the precompiled unreal engine.

    @demortes i build android roms and well this is wuick to build.

    @Haxk20 can I have your previous setup then? Lol

    @ScribeOfGoD i still use my laptop so no !

    My work computer has 36 cores (not threads, cores) and 192 GB of RAM

    @tbodt yeah but your cost like 2k€ while mine was just 117€

    @Haxk20 it was $8k
