in job application mode; getting really tired of entry level positions wanting 3+ years of experience.

Given that a) no one I have seen with this much experience wants these positions, b) HR says they are getting applicants with this much experience, I can only assume two things:

1: People lie on their resumes.
or
2: The job market is far more saturated with good applicants than I thought.

Either way, frustrating.

Or 3: employers want to pressure experienced devs into underselling themselves

Sounds like underpaid roles to me, We want a senior dev, with a junior pay rate. Sadly navigating around these noise making jobs is a challenge in its self.

I'm currently keeping my eye out for senior/lead roles, and these range anywhere from 2 years to 7-10 years experience.

I'm a little hesitant to apply for something that expects a senior to come with only ~2 years experience.

Ime, many of them have access to the 0 experience + degree jobs that aren't available in your locality, plus a shorter education cycle. Feel for ya

I would just try to apply anyway. Depending on your location, 90% of the time the interviewer doesn't even know what went into the requirements list, which is at best vaguely related to what the company actually needs.
