Or just say fuck it, oops, forgot and let them figure it out if/when you're audited.
-
donuts236785y@SortOfTested getting fined or audited for $25 is worse... I did think of that originally but this is the IRS...
They have all the info from the banks... H honestly it makes no sense why we need to do taxes... They have all the source docs so can generate our tax bills themselves..,. -
@billgates
There's no fine for omission. Auditing is also not triggered by omission.
Fines are issued for late filing, failure to file or erroneous reporting. -
donuts236785y@SortOfTested but isn't omission the same as erroneous reporting.? I guess just better safe than sorry .....
-
@billgates
If you're that concerned and aren't sure, then just pay HR block to own the liability. It will cost less than your time. -
Root797345yI went to fill out my taxes, touched my W2's, and they flew behind my desk. I have a corner desk, with a hollow pillar in the back corner. Guess where they are? The desk is also held together by luck and friction and gravity, and moving it makes it start falling into pieces. It's also super heavy and I cant move it by myself.
So guess who can't do her taxes?
I mean I can, but it's enough of an ordeal (especially while sick) that I've been putting it off. -
donuts236785y@Root ok guess that beats mine... Can you just print another copy?
I just download mines.... But now need to print a copy along with all other forms I now need to mail... So have to email them to office.... -
Root797345y@billgates Nope. I only have the paper copies I received in the mail. ☹ so, it's going to be a desk party! yaaaay.

Was going to finish my taxes today but the moment I hit submit (efile) I remembered that one been don't actually provide their interest document when I had entered the info in a few weeks ago....
I thought it was bc I had a low balance do don't get much interest... But I double checked.... And boom....
It's now on the site.... $124 of interest.... = $25 of additional taxes owed....
Have to now fcking fill out, print and manually mail an Amendment... whose instructions are sorta vague so need to email my tax software's company for some help figuring out what I should include....
