Sending emails using a DB... Thoughts?

    For what purpose? To send updates about database health? Are you certain it wouldn't be just more noise in a wall of email? It would be for my team.

    @bahua for example if devRants database sent out the "++'d your rant" notifications

    That's better done as the result of a streaming event bus with a consistent domain message strategy.

    I looked into using SQL that would output a file directly into the SMTP's queue folder that would automatically get detected and emailed out. Felt kind of hackish lol

    @BobbyTables for Oracle there's a package that lets you use the SMTP
