So I found out I'm only earning 50 cents higher than the minimum wage. Nice, very nice...

... And that's why the backlog of unfinished tasks keep piling up. You get what you pay for.

I know how you feel, the excuse I get is it's because I don't have a college degree.

Mine was because I don't have any previous experience + I didn't have any projects to show.

But really, it's because they can't afford a proper developer.

@burswag I don't have experience either, and prior to this job I didn't know anything, bit since taking the position, the other web developer hasn't made a site or been involved other than meetings.

I know they can't afford to pay me what I am worth, but they could pay me what we pay the new hires + a little more and I'd be satisfied for a bit.

@sylar182 at this point, even if they start playing me the average market value for a junior dev, I'd still look for a new job. This isn't the right environment for me.

How much is the minimum wage in your country?
  • 0
@daniem10 Here in the US, it varies by state. Where I am, it's $10.50/hour.

Where I am the minimum wage for a domestic worker (lady who cleans you house) is R2230,70 ($160.55) per month.

The fucker we call a boss starts off all new employees (web developers and designers) at R2000,00 per month regardless of experience or qualification.

Fucking leech is preying on the vulnerable.
