Exploring my work machine today

- Nvidia control panel icon in the taskbar

Why is that there? *Click*

- No screens connected to an Nvidia device.

- Goes to system information

- GTX 1050

- Look around back, all of the displays are plugged into system video on the motherboard.

- Facepalm, plug into the GPU

    Shouldn't matter, even if you're using the MB display adapter the graphics card can still pipe frames to the monitor.

    Minor performance hit, but has its uses (such as using a FreeSync monitor with a GeForce graphics card).

    @kwilliams Obviously the device wasn't in use, because nVidia control panel said so
