Writing code in SQL Server Management Studio. I miss Vim. And don't mention the "Vim like plugings"

You talk like you're being forced to write it in SSMS... You know you can install other editors right?

@drRoss I know but for one Vim doesn't work great on Windows and especially when you are working on a server with no Internet connection due to the sensitive nature of the data stored. I'm all ears if you have any solutions :(

You're working directly on the server? What are you looking for, a text editor?

Yes. Client is a large bank (City of London) and data security rules (from the bank) mean the server on which we store and work on the data can't have Internet access. I've tried sublime, atom, etc even with their own Vim plugings. My background is working on Unix and I just feel infinitely slower at writing/editing code.

@bp85 How would you even get a text editor on there without internet access? Surely these systems are gapped somehow?

@drRoss by downloading the installer and copying over to the server. It's a grim life been a dev on there!

@bp85 How are you allowed to get away with that?!?! I'm cringing!

Yup. So, I'm stuck with having to code in Management Studio.
