Has anyone ever actually tried moving to a nice tropical place while making a good living working only 50% part time as a remote developer? It seems like it’s always a friend of a friend of a friend.

I'm in a tropical place wanting to do just that here, currently just a visa/finding job issue as I'm still a student

I've been avoiding nice tropical places even for holidays because it's hot, full of nasty diseases, no medical system worth mentioning, you get robbed, and then you wake up in the gutters with only one kidney.

@Fast-Nop Not to mention that the warmer the climate, the larger the spiders.

mississippi counts as tropical huh? Still waiting on the remote job tho. I am self-employed, just the current line of work requires me to physically show up on location.

@jjimenez two words, spartan mosquito. Works similar to a bug zapper only without the required electricity and bright lights. Made right here in hattiesburg too.
