Meh, it's nothing special, but not hideous either. Plenty of employers use it in the real world, so nothing wrong with getting used to it.

I mean I’m sure it’s terrible but so is everything. My company uses slack and the main reason it sucks is it has no right to exist. If we didn’t have it I would be more productive and there would be no downsides. I have to assume that all stupid ass applications that 1000 people spent years developing just so that they could do the same shit that IRC and email have been doing for almost 50 years have to suck cat piss too.

    It’s lagging for me

    It's better than Skype.

@FrodoSwaggins So if Slack sucks because it has no right to exist, is it okay to say that u have no right to exist, because you're terribly negative and stuck in the past?

@hitzoR no because those two things are unrelated, and using old software that works better than a bunch of trash that is designed to distract employees from doing their job is not the wrong decision.

You know I should go out and start a company that reinvents something that’s been around forever but add some emoji and make it take up 20gb of ram. Maybe fire, water, or wheels or something. Those don’t have enough JavaScript in them, aren’t slow enough, and don’t distract people from doing their jobs. Time to make them better, trick a bunch of VCs to fund it so that when I go home I can be reasonably albeit delusionally satisfied enough that I can brag to my wife that what I do for a living matters and isn’t a waste of time.

You can mute the organizer and also remove (apart from muting) other "presenters" from a meeting. But once you're demoted to Attendee, you can no longer do it.
