Anyone who uses Vim as code editor?
I recently learned Vim and the more I explore it, the more I love it.
Is it really helpful to go through the pain of learning those shortcut keys in the long run?

Yes, and I'd go with that same answer for your question.
It's quite extensible through its wide choice of plugins, so you can set it up the way you want it.

In addition, even if you have (or want) to use an IDE for a project, you can usually find a Vim plugin to get the same keybinds, thus keeping your workflow similar.

If you are really loving it, why/how would learning shortcuts be a pain?

Without shortcuts (and aliases), I'd cease to use computers on a day to day basis
