@GieltjE The attempt to repair it took 1-2 hours yesterday and uninstalling it first took 1.5 hours. That left 4.5GB of residues, which https://github.com/Microsoft/... took 45 minutes to get rid of.
(Lenovo L540 w 2.5GHz Haswell i5 and 7200 RPM hybrid disk)
Reverting to a restore point buggered up my Visual Studio (isn't the very point of restore points to NOT get you into such messes?), so reinstalling it now. With VS infamous install speed, that's half a day down the drain...
