Project managers who distribute a task instruction like "add button on page x" into 20 ticket comments (each minimum 1000 chars), 1 pdf from the client, 2 unrelated tl;dr confluence pages, 3 lengthy bullshit management emails (at least 5 people in cc) and end up sending chat messages every hour...

    In my experience project managers generally, and account managers specifically add no value to the software development process.

    They serve a temporary purpose in that they act as a filter for the even worse clients, until they get Stockholm Syndrome and are committing you and your team to all kinds of unnecessary bullshit. Then you are in a slow death spiral that is hard to pull out of, like an event horizon.
