HA! Yup, all the time. They'll just put every requirement they can come up with that is trendy even though they probably know they'll never find anyone who knows everything they are asking for. It's probably good to stay away from any company or client that does that since they probably don't know what they really want.

LinkdIn Recruiter: "I have a great opportunity for a "every programming language in the book" developer job in your area. Great benefits with a great company with plenty of challenging opportunities. Pay starts at minimum wage and there is no vacation.

Companies that list those requirements usually tank because it's an indication that they do not know what they want or specifically , what they need to get the job done. If I'm an app development firm , I would specifically mention some experience in App based framework , html, JavaScript and maybe some C++. If you have 2 out of 3 then you'll be able to navigate the iOS / android development arena just fine. But people hiring programmers don't always understand that 😐😬

I had this at my last job, advertised for a PHP developer because they "researched" lol paid me a fraction of a normal salary, then come to find out the website didn't even need php!

Are low paying programming gigs common in the US? the perception in Europe is that you guys are paid quite well.

No I don't think low paying jobs are common here in the US. There's lots of "crap" jobs but tons of high paying ones too. My company says Devs in Europe get paid poorly. Is that true?

I've never had a problem finding a higher (not crap) paying job
