FUCKING docker-for-windows, I HATE you, random freezes, "function not implemented"... the worst is that a restart works, but every 2 hours it's FUCKING UNBEARABLE FUCK YOU DOCKER CORP !

Docker doesn't even work on my windows install because i have a too old version(an old version of 10). Not because any features are lacking, just because it claims it would be insecure or some shit.

Windows resources are difficult to virtualize, and MS isn't really invested in making that story any better. I'm willing to bet there will be a competing MS platform for containerization and orchestration in the next year or so. The developer story has been driving more towards their locking funnel for the last few years.

Docker also works perfectly on linux and macos.

    Maybe consider WSL (2)?

@koes Same shit, it still has memory leaks with big Makefiles.

Why do you use windows? Are you a gamer or a developer? Windows will be always against you. Switch to Linux and thank me later.

@Bybit260 , a solution to this problem might be come soon. See https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/....
I have to agree though with most of you here, simply using Linux is probably the smartest move. I have been running docker on Windows in that past but eventually also switched to Linux. The only reason for me to occasionally use Windows is because Adobe refuses to make their software available on Linux.
