We're all just pretending we're OK with the fresh hell that is known as OKRs right? Right!?

    Because OK is in the name

    It is ridiculous how management is constantly reinventing the wheel to make us work more/harder/smarter in a way that we as drones will appreciate that and feel fulfilled. And it is completely bs and unrealistic.

    You know something like when you fart, the rainbow goes out of your ass. Stuff of fantasy and utopian dream of managers who hate to see us near the watercooler as our place is at the keyboard writing code for 8h straight!

    It is not new: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OKR

    I would rather know the metrics management uses than not know.

    "By cutting 55 local jobs in the engineering department, we're looking to achieve the key results of faster development, higher quality and lower cost."

    Well, the last two companies i worked for existed for more than 5 years before they introduced OKRs and one of those companies wanted us to be extremely excited about that, taking our time from work for another meeting for defining OKRs for our team. We were defining OKRs for ourselves, so it was kinda pointless.

    @devJs I worked at a company that had goals for each employee. The manager would define these goals without our input. So we had no buy in on the goals. They were always stupid like: "stay safe"

    I would rather define my own.

    @Jilano Where is the safety?

    @Demolishun good points. I'm not sure I have a better option either. Perhaps only the "fresh hell" has been renewed ;)
