    Its only funny until you inherit a system where base64 "encryption" is used to protect sensitive data.

    @deadpool88 how? Most rdbms offers binary blob support.

    Had to explain to my boss that b64 is reversible when he saw me pass b64(un:pwd) in a Basic auth header due to no ouath support.

    "But you are encrypting it, what will you do with it now?!"

    I quit 3 weeks ago :)

    It actually is not an encryption. It is an encoding to display bytes as strings.
