I always found RFC protocols/standards to be intimidating my first 3 years of development. Lately I've come to understand, they're just different ways of arranging text to send to a server. There is nothing magical about a MIME type message other then the way text is arranged amongst the message. The server your writing or sending your message to didnt come out the box understanding how to interpret your multipart upload. Someone wrote the interface that interprets all these neatly organized sets of text that abide by these anal retentive protocols and our jobs simply just to organize it this way. Well with frameworks today even that is rarely our job. The whole concept behind its become an eye opening experience though. Might even be fun to write a http client that helps uses build MIME messages or something of that sort.
