Why the fuck does my subdomain work with https but my main domain returns an ssl error. Wouldnt nether work if the ssl was the issue

Its midnight I want to fucking sleep not deal with this shit. I'm probably doing something stupid but don't have the fucking experience to recognize what I'm doing wrong

    But you do have the correct certificate without subdomain?

    You stuffed up and didn't create a wildcard but a specific subdomain based ssl cert only?

    @C0D4 And even with a wildcard, the domain without any subdomain is not necessarily included.

    @sbiewald it's possible, but one usually creates the ssl cert for the root domain before adding subs into the mix.

    Sadly, there's a lot that could be wrong here, and very little to go off.
