I've heard good things about the ergochair. But that's mainly from YouTubers, so would value other feedback if people have it.

I feel like chairs are like shoes...

There are good and bad shoes but it really depends on your body and usage.

I've sat in bonkers expensive chairs and not thought much of it, cheap chairs and used them for years... I think outside some fundamentals it really depends on you more than anything.

I like my Herman Miller Aeron. But you should probably buy it from a furniture retailer on sale, because $1k for a computer chair is a little goofy. If you're gonna spend 8+ hours in your chair per day, spend some money and get something you'll be comfortable.

If you don't like mesh chairs, the steelcase leap looks really comfortable, but I haven't gotten to try it. Also, the chairs with the rubber backs are deceptively comfortable for some reason. I think it's because they're flexible and the rubber helps you maintain posture. I used them at my last job, but I don't know which ones they were, they were probably from Herman Miller or steelcase, metro authorities like to spend dumb money on stuff.

Herman Miller Aeron. Don’t buy online, check what size fits you, there are three of them

While it looks extremely weird and is stupidly expensive, I think the best chair ever for basically everything is a swopper. Seems wierd with no back- or armrest, but it's great
