Somebody with more technical expertise than me should write a virus that infects pc's but the only impact is that it updates Internet Explorer to the most current version... Call it "honorable malware" 😆

@NoNameCode I'm sure we could work with the antivirus makers to turn a blind eye for the common good 😁

HonorWare. Viruses that break into systems, then patch the exploit that it used in the first place. I think we're on the money guys.

Better yet have it install and set chrome to the default browser

In the past I actually had the same idea, but with WordPress and other open source software. I work a lot with hosting providers and a lot of them complain about those kind of open source system which are not updated regularly. It turns their servers into bots for botnets. I thought about building a system which automatically hacks open source CMS systems and patches the security bugs. I still think it would not be the worst idea, but from a legal view it's just not worth the trouble

Windows updates already do that. And they are more annoying than many real viruses - beat that, haha.

@Hel8y this script may interest you then: http://wptavern.com/bluehost-open-s...

"Bluehost Open Sources Script Used to Update 2.5 Million WordPress Sites:

Bluehost wrote a Perl script that uses WP-CLI to update sites, even those running on versions as old as 1.0.2. The company successfully updated more than 2.5 million customer sites.

Bluehost used the script to successfully update 99% of the WordPress sites on its platform. After the first major update, fewer than 0.007% of customers reported issues and WordPress-related technical support requests have been reduced by 18%."
