To power a Pihole that blocks Ubiquiti analytics from a USB port of the Ubiquiti router itself. Ironic, cynical, yet absolutely beautiful solution.

Ubiquiti can suck my dick.

    Yep. Doing the same in my pfsense box

    Or you could just use a proper router, nay?

    @iiii nah, love the clock and the fact that I can make the router make the ding sound while I’m far from home, remotely from the app

    I really want to upgrade my router but I'm kinda assuming they all spy on me and that kinda kills my interest in buying a new gadget.

    @SortOfTested pfsense has some tracking?

    @iiii
    I have pfsense set up as my edge router. It can filter, block or blackhole pretty much anything in that config.

    @N00bPancakes buy microtik and install openwrt

    What the hell is this thread about? I don't understand half the words you're all saying. What the fuck does a router have to do with a clock? I'm confused.

    @neeno it is a router with a clock. A fancy as fuck router for hipsters
  • 1
    Wait, Ubiquiti don't give you a way to disable their analytics natively?

    @neeno oh you poor soul, you was thinking that the word “clock” in this context has something to do with cpu clock? No, it’s just a router with fancy design and useless but somehow appealing features. I bought it unaware of my privacy, before all that privacy stuff that @Root sparked in me.

    Buy anything openwrt.

    @uyouthe why not just use routeros? Or do you mean as a virt router for the blocklist?
