Did you failover to backups? Any temperature alerts sent out? What was the outcome? Thanks!

mihamil3319yThe MIS team has been working on building out a complete DR plan for every service we use in the company, but it is not implemented yet. I am a Web developer in the marketing department (strange, I know) so I'm not on the alerts except for the Web servers. I would imagine some alerts were at least queued up by the monitoring system, but the email servers and/or network was already not functioning, so... I have to say, our MIS team is awesome at handling issues with as much grace as possible. From the time they knew, they were able to coordinate the AC repairs and get everything back up within 3 hours.
The air conditioning unit for our data room failed at 4AM this morning. Everyone got to work this morning with and all of the servers and network equipment was shut down. the room was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
