Microsoft why all the confusion about the release date and the name of the next version of asp.net. I have seen mvc 5, mvc 6, vnext, core.net and have just resorted to calling it "new mvc version whatever". By the way I have spent days trying to figure out what I can't have my web page download a file.

@g-m-f I tried to show it to my students and it worked out to be a total face plant. For run of the mill crud it is ok but beware beyond that.

it's .net core & asp.net core, there is a production ready release available (rc1) which is built on dnvm. rc2 looks like it will be available any day now (check the github release page), the wait between rc1 & 2 has been long as dnvm is changing to the dot net cli.

it's pre-release software so there are bound to be issues but I for one think it will be worth the wait.
