    I've built a store for my mother using shopify before. It was incredibly straight forward. Starting from scratch would be in my opinion overkill without some compelling reason. Handling payments has never been fun for me.

    Go with shopify/CMS/any 3rd party systems.

    Remember that your product is not guaranteed to sell well so you need to test it quick.

    Customize one of the existing solutions out there to meet your needs. Find one you think you'll be comfortable with if your business scales because you'll hate your life if you have to switch.

    OpenCart is where it's at. Open source and fully customizable.

    From my previous job I've got a lot of experience with WordPress and Woocommerce. I can definitely recommend it. Lots of options and very easy to use
