Hackathons can also be about programming! Done two now, both 24 hour challenges. Exhausting but worth it!

You need to try one just to try it; I've done a few and absolutely loved them! I have won a couple and recieved an honorable mention at my biggest one, HackTheNorth which is pretty good out of 1000 competitors. If for nothing else it's awesome to meet so many phenomenal people with such diversity from all across the world. Meet people from Australia, all across Europe, all across east Asia, India, south America , Africa. Littrrally from everywhere and you gain new perspectives because the people just by chance tend to be phenomenal (probably because getting into the big ones is a competition and you have to apply with resume etc). And then when you win, the feeling is awesome too! Of course its unlikely statistically that you will win but there is a chance! (Unless I'm there then ill have to win :p )
