Okay, so is Linux used more for programming than Windows? And if you do prefer Linux please give me some reasons because I love Linux

Shell (think scripting, pipes) ,
community,
Freedom to choose,
open source ,
tweak ability (can make it behave just the way I want.),
because I'm accustomed to it.

Not to mention, when you know your way around with the commands, people tend to think higher of you.
So credibility is a thing as well.
