Why all developers care about their editor's background more than the editor itself .....? !

I mean when I'm choosing an editor, I usually only think about load time, and whether it has the ability to go into dark mode or has the ability to customize the theme. I dont like staring at a white screen for 8 hours. Dark themes are easier on my eyes.

An editor is an editor. I have used Notepad++ for Java and it has syntax highlighting so the only thing I cared about was the color scheme.
