I wonder who developed the search function for Windows 10 and where they live.

    Have you tried asking Cortana?

    I'll give you a 5 $ wrench as divining rod.

    Just start hitting people working at Redmond / MS and you'll find out.

    @rutee07 Ride with the wrench naked on a horse like Lady Godiva.

    To Redmond and beyond!

    @rutee07 must be the search guy... All the more reason to go see him

    @IntrusionCM The horse hairs tickle me, I think I'll ride a motorcycle instead.

    @neeno It's all making sense now..

    @rutee07 UwU rawr
    You know it! I know your tastes. You like to lick smooth things 😏

    Who needs a search function? Auto-installing stupid games, implementing ads in the start menu, and delivering buggy updates - that's what Microsoft prioritises for its game starter OS.

    I hear you on the search in general, but what really gets me is when you type a word and it guesses it halfway through, and before you realize and hit enter you've added another letter, and it removes the suggestion.

    Firef? Sure. Unambiguous. Obvious. Instant result.

    Firefo? No idea man. Try hitting enter to search your files and emails.

    @ltlian Ah! So I'm not the only one struggling with this!

    Also, sometimes I press the Windows key and start typing and nothing happens. Then I press the Windows key two more times to reopen this crap and it works again. Maybe I'm not alone here too?

    When I tell others they think I'm crazy.
    "No, Windows is the best OS! It doesn't have issues!"

    @Lensflare That happens to me with the Win+X menu. You press it, doesn't work, press Win, then Win+X and NOW it works!

    My Windows search just stopped working for about 3 months. It was a pain trying to look for the executables

    @rutee07 ❤️🍻

    @Jilano I didn't even know about Win+X 😲

    I think the search function reached its perfection in Windows 7. Now in Windows 10 it feels like we are back to prehistory.
  • 3
    @cafecortado Windows itself reached its peak with Win 7 and went downhills afterwards.

    @Jilano Fellow Win+X user ! It’s handy.
    I gave up on search. Now I just populate my task bar with shortcuts (and add keyboard shortcuts) to every application I use.
