Everyone in family and friends allways ask me "You're a programmer and know a lot about computer, so why you're not in Facebook/Twitter/Instagram?"

My answer: We create these services for you (average people) we don't use them ourselves. It's a security hole to put your information in public.

    @Shika93 Yes, I "know" a few people who are one 1+ social media(s) and manages to remain anonymous (or almost).

    @Shika93 They may be not totally anonymous but they surely are to some extent.

    I don't think tech is limited to just social media, and that's okay. It just feels so weird because it's like where you work is a status, and computer programming is probably the few places where your university has less bearing on your status than your skill. So to be defined by what company you work at is narrow minded to me.
