Relocating to London for work and I am unsure how I feel about this with all the corona stuff in the UK right now. Help urgently needed!

@nibor Yeah. Told I will be working from home. Just worried about being in a new country and forced to stay indoors alone, can get quite depressing!

@CodesNotHot are they fixing you up with accommodation? I really wouldn't want to be looking around for place right now.

The real truth is that its a lot like 28 Days Later over there.

The good news is real estate is pretty cheap.

Bad news is not a lot of services... and you know... undead.

It ain't like 28 days later here. Arguably it *should* be, but it's not.

We've got a lockdown in name only. Schools are closed... but not really, they're open. Non-essential shops are closed... but not really, almost all retailers have classes themselves as essential. You can't leave your home for anything but an essential reason - like going to the above essential shops, doing "exercise" as much as you want, going to church, going to work if you can't work remotely, or joining a picket line.

If you're worried about an incompetent government then sure, stay the hell away. If you're worried about not being allowed outside though - that fear is really just a myth.

That was me two months ago. I honestly didn't want to be in lockdown in London. Now I'm on the south coast, at least I can walk to the prettiest place!
