Is this just bullshit or did they actually pull this off?
https://patents.google.com/patent/...
They just trying to patent other people's work before they discover it? I really hate it when they patent shit they didn't even make.

Also, if true, is this ethical to create life like this?

LOL.. now that's a troll patent. All of that is prior art, and the only thing that would actually be interesting is kept vague because they have no idea how to pull it off.

@Demolishun Why would it be less ethical than the normal variant of creating life by fucking around half-drunken in some shabby South-East Asian brothel until the condom blows up?

@Fast-Nop If you trained an AI, that is sentient, does it die when you turn off the power? Is saving its state enough? Would it fear and defend itself if given the means? These are things I think about.

@Demolishun So? Present it as out-group if it gets in the way, then kill it. That's how mankind has done it among themselves for millennia.

That has never been a problem in practice - only the out-group presentation has. Because if a group is neglecting that tool, said group will have a short shelf life before blowing up itself.

Or if the group is making use of it too much, it means having more enemies than the group can handle.

But for the question whether it would die - if the data are being stored so that rebooting will work, that would be more akin to putting someone into induced coma.

And yeah, sure Skynet could fight back. Especially if trained with real world data on how shit actually works.

Kill google before they kill us with ReCaptchaNet

So they claim they know how to make a general AI? Nah,no way

@Demolishun everything is ethical as long as you call it so.

    Status abandoned it says.

@mysth Considering how Google launches & kills products, I think he's more likely to be a dice roll simulator than a neural net though.
