As a person who takes a lot of tech interviews everyday, here are a few thoughts

1. You DON’T need to know everything, it’s okay to say you don’t know things. Trust me, we know when you’re lying

2. Rule of thumb, the more the number of questions, the more we like you

3. We don’t mind you saying what you’re thinking when we ask a logical question. It might help us understand your approach to the problem and guide you.

4. Don’t google during telephonic interview, your stutter tells us the truth

    Insightful questions too that convince the interviewer that you were listening and want more information about day-to-days

    Some good ones but people who have stammer would get an unfair treatment with your 4th point.

    @Berkmann18 I do stutter if I’m really anxious, so I do agree.

    Fuck my stutter, it’s just sad.

    Amen to all. I have a interview Thursday and i will keep this rant as backbone. I am about to apply for a job as project manager instead of programmer this time. I should prepare good questions

    As a person that has gone through some interviews, I gotta say I despise 99% of the interviewers I've dealt with.

    I'd rephrase point 4 as "Honesty is the best policy" but yes don't google during an interview. Especially if your keyboard has blue switches.

    @mac-aga And so is stuttering (which is essentially what those with stammer does).
    It's one thing being suspicious of someone reading individual words over the phone but that's totally different from stuttering...
