What is this Progressive Web App?

From what I've heard, it a new totally cross platform app that runs using the web, in these "background" processes called service workers. This enables things like push notifications, and being able to do stuff when you're not on a webpage, just like a native app.

Seems like there's not a whole lot of support for it yet, but it sure looks like an awesome future for those things.

More google non-native bullshitery.

There are countless benchmarks showing how poorly Androids can handle JS, due to opting for more CPU's over CPU power.

Now the solution is apparently more web apps.
