If 13 hour days on Friday are the norm, I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board. Fuck that.

11 hours is pretty much my norm most days now, with a few 13’s thrown in too.

@Root even with 11 hours I feel like it's just not even worth it - how do you do it without your non work life suffering? How do you make dinner?

    😅
Don’t take me as the normal case! I’m certain others are doing better mentally and emotionally than I am. I’m depressed and burned out and miserable. I also don’t know how to detach from work and relax, and they’re very much related.

As for dinner, or really all meals... I cook, and generally make three or four separate things as everyone wants something different. It’s a lot of work, but I enjoy it more than my job. Making extra for leftovers always helps.

@phat-lasagna I think "start your own company" might not be the best advice for depression and burnout, but what do I know.

Wut? Isn't friday supposed to be less work because everyone could not give more fucks at the end of a week?

That sounds like your company not only doesn't mind, but actually enforces the practice of breaking the rule that sensible companies have: no prod pushes on Friday.

@deadlyRants yeah I honestly have no idea on the best way to tackle depression bc I am depressed myself. If you got an idea please let me know haha

@phat-lasagna I don't know either mate, I'm at the highest dose of my prescribed antidepressants and all I got was shitty side effects.
