I love commenting code.

I love removing the commented code after it has fallen into confirmed obsolescence.

my senior devs don't believe in commenting code. they say if you do it right no comments needed.

They also don't believe in frameworks or using libraries.

Sure, good, clean code should be pretty self describing, but a lot of time I see comments as the "why". How many times do you stumble across something and say, "why did they do that?"
