Oh no, I only have a 99.92% survival chance. Tell my kids I love them.

Or a noticeably higher chance of surviving but being left physically debilitated... 🙋‍♂️

@atheist To be fair, I think I already have been 😕😔. Thanks, Covid. Thanks, China.

😬 I have problems with stairs and am unable to endure strenuous physical activity for longer than a minute, have lung damage. I suspect you could have it worse

@Root there is a good case against that argument that I know you will give a fair thinking. Pandemic works exponentially. As long as you are under the healthcare capacity for sick people, death ratio is really slim.

But you can not increase bed capacity exponentially. If you have more covid people than you can professionally treat for, then death or serious after effects climb up.

Because of this aspect traffic accident deaths and tobacco usage deaths are comparable but covid death is not comparable to both.

I know there are many overreactions and authoritarian power grab attempts but never judge contagious disease by its death pct at any given time.

@aviophile Agreed. It’s the latter points I make fun of and draw attention to.

It isn’t about the disease anymore; almost none of it is. It’s about fear and control and politics. And those who grab power in such a way are the scariest kind as there is little to nothing they won’t do or use to get what they want.

@atheist dont be dramatic. if it takes 2 month for a chain smoker to come back it aint that bad
  • 2
@bad-frog fuck off mate, I'm 6 months in, potentially on blood thinners for the rest of my life. Get your head out of your ass.

@atheist then youre part of the 0.08% what to say.
else than you can thank the WHO for denying you HCQ.

The black flu is no joke. It surely isn't the zombicalypse but it comes closer than anything else i saw in my life.
Luckily, the cyberspace is a rather safe space to be in the pandemic age (i don't expect it to be over soon)...

@Oktokolo it’s both virulent and useful. Of course it won’t go away soon.

Soon, hearing “papers please” will be commonplace because people will dutifully demand it. Certainly won’t be beneficial to their freedoms, and not really to the health of others, either (though a little bit).

Privacy is an illusion, vaccines aren't.
