I am soooooooooo much bored to start coding again after a small vacation 🥲 Is it the same for all? If so show me a way out 🥲

    A first conclusion would be that your vacation was too short and did not bring the needed relief?

    wrong tag, but nobody cares anymore

    @theabbie everybody was a noob once.

    @nine what helped me, although not enough, was visiting art expositions and being wifi-less as possible.

    @theabbie I for one am kinda glad the self-proclaimed tag police have calmed down a tad.

    The only way out is to have fun doing something else.

    @Billi thanks!

    @AlmondSauce Why do you think that category filtering should not work for anyone?

    Because that's the direct consequence from pampering wannabe-devs who can't even klick the correct button.

    @Fast-Nop I care about that for joke/meme posts. The rest all merge into one anyway.

    @AlmondSauce I also care about the "devrant" category wether there's something new about this platform.

    Also, I wonder about why people think it could mean "developer rant" - as opposed to what? The rants by HR, finance, and sales people here? Oh, there are none? Hm...

    @Fast-Nop The problem I have is when this many people make the same mistake (I don't think it's happening maliciously), there's a very strong argument to say the issue is with the UX / design, and the best way to kill a community is to scare off new members (who are posting genuine rants) by berating them over a clearly confusing tag etiquette.

    By all means scare off the users posting crappy memes, that's not what this platform is about. But it seems like a real shame if people who post genuine rants get scared off simply because they've put them under a "devrant" tag, and they just get a dozen unfriendly comments telling them as such.

    @AlmondSauce The problem I see with that is that it basically ruins that filter option in the name of friendliness. The longer I'm on DR, the more I understand why SO is so harsh.

    @Fast-Nop You're implying the two are mutually exclusive. I'd instead argue the tag system needs to be fixed. Bear in mind stackoverflow used to have that issue with tags - there were "homework" etc. style tags that were misused constantly, and so they had a coordinated plan to get rid of them, and now for tagging at least, they rarely have big issues. I think something similar is needed here.

    @AlmondSauce I don't see the issue with the tag system. It's just the total lack of thinking when tapping something.

    Now I wouldn't even argue with that if we were talking regular users - but devs who are already overwhelmed by some tags?! What are these people going to do if they have to write, you know, actual code?

    @Fast-Nop They'd come to rant about it on this very platform ;)
