Tips for staying productive?

What is your definition of productivity, and why does everybody seem to care about productivity?
How can we stop selling efficiency and focus on effectiveness instead?

I think being productive is analogous to being effective, rather than being efficient. I consider myself productive if I don't get constantly distracted and start browsing the cesspit that is Reddit rather than focusing on something work related.

Others may disagree of course!
