Getting tired of old business types managing software projects... I really don’t care if you have fifty years of experience in managing loans in banks, please don’t try to manage software or data projects... this is sooo out of your realm of understanding.

PS I actually like this person, they are a wonderful human, but keep nosing in areas they have no knowledge, and derail the conversation from talking about things we actually need to discuss. Like “how do we build this?”

You see, this is where you are wrong, a project manager manages projects regardless of their nature.

What you might be complaining is when they go outside of their box and think they know things they don't know, which I agree is annoying.

It can be said the same thing of a developer that thinks it can manage projects.

@mundo03 we’ve had now 10 meetings about how we would get data flowing from another team into our system, so that we could run our models.

I’ve scoped out multiple times how this would work with diagrams and wanted to start a conversation on who builds what. And this person keeps bringing up questions like “but are we sure APIs are the way to go? Should not like have the data in a database so we can have it most recent? I just don’t know if we should focus on REST now, we need a dashboard.”

Talk to the dumb fuck to stoo using words the dumb fuck doesn't understand.

But it still looks like the right questions for a person that doesn't know the tech part.

I suggest you or someone else offer to teach the concepts and why something is better than other things.

For instance the API vs a middleware is a legit question, specially if the data being available is critical.

So yeah, tl;dr the dumb fuck seems to be doing the dumb fuck job.
    Please talk, communicate, teach eachother.
