Standup feels like a waste of time most days. I’ll tell you when I make progress or if I hit a roadblock, you don’t have to ask about it daily. Especially on longer term projects.

It all depends on if there are dependencies and team size.

We run 15 min standup every morning and that includes any issues that cropped up during the night (customers finding a problem or order being stuck), whist status on what every one works on and if we are blocked by something, possibly something someone else is working on.

And sometimes we have found a new dependency we did not anticipate.

Sometimes this results in changes in priorities and that is much easier to resolve with every one on hand.

Good. It means you're a good, motovated dev. Interns/juniors with only half a brain absolutely need these standups

@Voxera I’ll definitely admit that standup is more relevant to teams utilizing multiple disciplines. The communication is necessary in that regard. But if I’m a dev working in my own system without dependencies, working on mostly under-the-hood changes, I don’t feel like it’s necessary for me to show up. I hate having to stop what I’m doing in the morning just to say I’m doing the same thing as yesterday and go back to my desk.
