Why oh why it's so fucking hard to update perl on gentoo!?
It just shows how broken portage as become.
And everyone seems to have it's own magic incantation of emerge/qlist

Gentoo is alright most of the time, I can tailor it to almost any shape I need.
It's just portage that as grown in complexity, and the overall QA of ebuilds and tools has declined a lot, making it a pain to keep secure.
Perl example is recurrent, every freaking time it goes up a version craps the all portage system, it's easier to remove perl,reinstall and rebuild dependencies than let portage handle it.
This should not happen. :(
