I can't name 3, but I have one.

I often do semi-difficult things, even repeatedly on purpose to maintain my own discipline. Essentially if there's something important I want to know and understand I don't dumb it down for myself until I understand it all the way through.

For example I don't copy solutions from SO if I don't feel I understand them, instead I rewrite them by hand. I've been doing this since I was a kid wanting to learn.

In the same sense, when I'm learning a new framework/library I don't copy bootstrapping/init code between projects, I write it all from scratch so I remember it better and understand what the thing need to get initialized, like a new SDL2 or pure OpenGL project.
