    HOW? WHEN? WHERE?

    @ghost1227 than you very much! btw: the path on windows is actually "%appdata%/Franz/Roaming/Plugins" (at least this is the one franz opens when clicking the "open plugin folder" in settings)

    @ghost1227 It just works! Awesome!
  • 1
    @Atlas Wait for it... I just pushed an update to add an inline back button on individual comment feeds
  • 1
    @Atlas Thanks for the tip! Updating paths now! Also.. anything else I can add for you? Feature wise or new integrations?
  • 1
    Guess I should email @dfox and have it added to the community projects page, huh
  • 0
    @ghost1227 absolutely!
  • 1
    Email sent!

    @ghost1227 👏👊
  • 1
    @Atlas Seriously though, Franz plugins have become a sort of hobby. Let me know if there's anything missing that you want, or if any existing plugins suck and should be rewritten. EG: My trello integration actually has notifications, the one in the main plugins repo doesn't!

    Fixed app link handling and added a permalink button to individual rants!
  • 0
    Oh, and added a help link to the devRant menu
  • 1
    New goal: Make this the most robust third-party Franz integration out there!
  • 0
    Exciting! *wiggle wiggle*
  • 0
    I really don't know I it is even possible but I'm working on a small mockup to show you, what I would add/change. Give me some time :)
  • 1
    So cool! Thanks! I use Franz and it's awesome, and now with devRant it's awesome++!
  • 1
    @Atlas DEFINITELY looking forward to it!
  • 1
    @hodor Glad you like it! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see integrated/improved!
  • 0
    @ghost1227 Didn't install it yet since I'm not home, but I will asap! :)
  • 0
    @ghost1227 Uh oh - don't expect too much! I have no knowledge of how that whole electron-stuff works and if the stuff I'm creating in my little highly confused brain will work out for you!

    BTW: Why did you choose franz? I'm just curious... I started to use franz switched to rambox and then switched back because I feel it's more stable.
  • 1
    @Atlas Simple... didn't know about Rambox! Might have to release integrations for both though...
  • 1
    Just looked at Rambox... definitely prefer Franz in terms of how integrations work, even if Franz isn't open source.
  • 1
    I've actually put serious thought into developing a third-party plugin repository for Franz. Just not jumping at doing it solo quite yet.
  • 0
    @ghost1227 if so, you should absolutely call it "Sissi", the significant other of Franz.
  • 1
    @Atlas Clever! Like I said... not in a rush to do it at the moment. Big project for a solo pet project.
  • 0
    sounds cool ty... will try it asap! I'm using Franz for a while now
  • 1
    @thoxx Let me know what you think/what I can improve (or what new integrations you'd like to see)!
  • 1
    @Atlas I just released another minor update that adds a super-primitive update notification to the integration... at least until I get around to building a proper integration service! Also... fucking TON of updates today!

    @ghost1227 so. finally my very little development of the layout as visual concept. As I said: I have no idea if such thing is even realizable or if that would be first @dfox job =) Also, dfox and @trogus if you're reading this: I just got a little spare time and wanted to see if I could improve the layout for me - I bet you put a lot of thought into this, and this should never be unterstood as vicious criticism! I love this place and truthfully thank you both for your investment!

    My thoughts:
    1. I use mostly the webapp, as I'm working on a desktop/laptop and rather like to type on a physical keyboard than on phone. From my 16 daily possible hours of using devRant, in almost 12 of them I would access devRant via webapp.
    2. I'm frustrated why I always have to go back and forth between comment-sections and the main feed although there is enough space for that on the left side: After seeing the illustration and the download-buttons once on startup, there is no need to leave this space unused. I just need to close the comment section and will always get back to startup-state immediately.
    3. Although the comment-section is only one level deep, there is some space "lost" due to the grey bars on the left of every comment.

    With the new layout I could just navigate/scroll each parts seperately and quickly move to the next post in the main feed and read its comments - It's all about efficiency! ⏱

    @Atlas Definitely see what you're going for... in an API-driven app, i'd say it's definitely doable. Since this isn't API-driven, it's be a HUGE load on the script to load that many actual pages in the backend and inject the relevant data. That said...

    I can only hope @dfox and @trogus are following along! :P

    Just did a MAJOR, super-cool update!
  • 1
    Plugin has been refactored and majorly optimized, and the update system has been drastically improved!
  • 1
    More specifically, the bulk of the code no longer runs within the Franz loop, which prevents constantly re-running the code.
  • 1
    @atlas I think you're becoming my biggest fan! Thanks!
  • 1
    I THINK I'm done with my update spree... I can't think of anything else to add at the moment. Just tweaked the update system to cache latest version to prevent over-calling, added a notification icon for updates, and fixed about dialog view when called from the notification page.

    here you go... TAKE THE ++ !!!
  • 1
    Not an update per se @atlas but http://extendfranz.com ;)
  • 1
    @Atlas The devRant plugin and all my other Franz integrations are now hosted on http://extendfranz.com. Updater won't catch the first update though.
  • 1
    @Atlas Anything else you'd like to see integrated (or integrated better)?
  • 1
    I just released a functional port of the Franz integration as a Firefox plugin, Chrome coming soon!
  • 0
    @ghost1227 hey there, do you think it would be possible to get the "clear" button for notifs that is provided in the mobile-app to the Franz plugin?
  • 1
    @Atlas Definitely!
  • 1
    @Atlas Update is now available! Remember that if you're on anything before 1.3.3, you'll have to update manually due to the migration to the ExtendFranz repo!
  • 1
    Or, rather, you'll have to manually download from the correct repo... I haven't gotten auto-updating working yet!
  • 0
    @ghost1227 whoops! That was quick! ++++++!
  • 1
    @Atlas I aim to please!
  • 1
    @Atlas I'm about to push an update that adds an option to hide non-rants. Anything else I can add real quick?
  • 0
    Nice! Got nothing additional so far
