the logic is simple, really . if any 3 letter abbreviation makes sense as a 3 letter english word in pronunciation, then say it as that word, otherwise USE THE DAMN ABBREVIATION . My ears feel like bleeding whenever i hear someone say "sequel" . ITS ESSS-Queue-ELLL !! You don't call JVM as "Javam" or AWS as "awwwwwsss" . you cal ELM files as "elm" because that sounds like a 3 letter word. "sequel" is like S,Q and L got drunk and are now vomiting on each other

I just go with whatever my partners are familiar with, drunk-sounding or not.

Now how about we start calling Xcode "10 Code"? /j

... Sequel is faster and has the advantage of being accurate when referring to sql server?
  • 1
@katvoira what's accurate about calling it a "sequel" server and not "s-q-l server"? and how much success/money have tou earned in the 10 milli second you saved saying that abomination?
